So to celebrate my return, I've decided to make this the sexiest post ever. I'll talk about fashion, movies, music, and there might even be some NUDITY!
Lets begin with a Music Video. Watch it.
One thing I love about techno music is that the genre isn't quite mainstream yet so their music videos can be as overly sexual as they want. Its not like MTV will be airing it anytime soon so why not have a lot of boobs and butts?
Moving on, lets discuss fashion! Alexis's first post inspired me to discuss my favorite trends and looks currently in vogue, so I will share them with you.
#1. I'm going to start with the most controversial looks and make my way to less trendy stuff, so lets begin with Shoulder Pads. I love them, and I know you probably hate them. What I love about them is not only that they symbolize strength and individuality, but how bold they are. It takes a brave person to wear them. And to those of you who are in denial about their return to prominence I offer you three pieces of evidence. Firstly, celebrities have started wearing them, from Rihanna to Victoria Beckham, and both celebrities are famous for their unique style. Secondly, They appeared on several runways last fall. And thirdly, I counted 3 girls at school last weak wearing them.
#2. 90's style belly shirts. This I'm not overly thrilled about, but if you have the right body for it, why not show off your abs? While many people groan about their return, I was never even aware they fell out of style. However, this trend has a time and place, I hope to god girls don't start trying to wear them to school (I can remember my oldest sister trying to wear them to school, back the last time they were popular, around 1999). Crop Tops should only be worn in summer and at casual events.
#3. House of Holland. One of my favorite designers. A lot of plaid, a lot of 80's. His stuff is very avant garde and that's why I like him.

#4. High waisted skirts. This isn't really a new trend, its at least a year old, but I really like them.
Now, lets discuss Star Trek! I love this film, unfortunately I overdosed on it. I saw the film the day it came out, then the next day, and then yesterday I saw it in IMAX, and now I'm kind of DONE with it. That doesn't mean I don't love it and its not my favorite movie yet this year, I've just had too much too quickly. The day it comes out on DVD I'm throwing a Vulcan themed party, so everyone make sure to come to that. It'll probably be some time this Fall.
Okay, this post is long enough. BYE!

Shoulder pads = ugly.
High-waisted skirts are totally just a way to make short skirts look longer so skanky hos can get away w/ wearing them at school.
Hope you've enjoyed this comment.
i missed this blogging thing... i don't think i've looked at anyone's blog since ninth grade.
there were shoulder pads in one of my dresses, and i ripped them out. that's all i'm saying about that.
well, first let me say how stupendous it is to have you back on!
oookaay... shoulder pads. i liked rihannas look, and gwens coat was cool, but really? 3 ppl at our school had the balls to wear them? take a photo next and show it to me! lets go buy something with shoulder pads tomorrow
house of holland is uhmazing!! i love their tees!! and high waisted skirts are beautiful! mary, get off your high horse!
aaaand... thats it
im going to read your comment now
I am beyond shocked. I expected everyone to be surprised and angry about the shoulder pads, and I especially expected Alexis to. But she's the only one that isn't upset.
I LOVE house of holland, I do love the T-shirts too, but his plaid skirts are my favorite.
I like the eye patch...quite fashionable. I like the plaidness of it.
I like the old song they used in the video. I don't know if I really liked the techno part though, techno's not really my thing. Also, I like the shoes on the model whose torso was cut off. The red ones.
I loved the song. I stopped watching the vid though...the naked guy's tanlines were amusing though.
I agree on all of those fashion points. I really want that eyepatch... Shoulder pads are strong, they help balance out wide hips in a (hopefully) attractive way and are still uncommon enough that they can be done really well without over-doing them
I would love to see a girl in a zoot suit styled to come in at the waist. y'know, to really get those shoulder pads prominent. Then have some skinny pants under. Or something...Hawt!
Hmm... With shoulder pads I think you should off set it with something feminine to create interesting contrast. Skinny Jeans would create too much of a V shape which is extremely masculine. I think a black high wasted pencil skirt and white blouse with shoulder pads is my current ideal outfit.
See, I was thinking to pull it in and then have it flare back out, like a dress, but more structured (thicker fabric of a coat)
